Kellie Brown

African American Ministries Operations Director

Kellie Brown, a native of St. Louis, MO, has lived in Charlotte since 2003. Charlotte offered the unique opportunity for her to help plant a multiethnic, PCA church with a black lead pastor, her husband, Howard. Since joining the PCA in 1993, Kellie has served as an assessor for the Church Planting Assessment Center, and has spoken on church planting, race, and women in leadership among other topics. She currently serves as a Women’s Shepherd and leads the music ministry at her church, Christ Central. She also serves as a mentor to cohort participants for the Institute for Cross Cultural Mission (ICCM). Over the years, Kellie has enjoyed encouraging, supporting and mentoring black women in majority white church contexts. Formerly, she co-founded a performing arts non-profit, NoDa School of the Arts, where she also directed and taught hundreds of children in theatre. She earned a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Valdosta, GA.

Kellie joined AAM in 2020 and serves in the role of Operations Manager, where she oversees the day-to-day functions of the ministry and coordinates LDR Weekend.
